Hey, I’m Sam
I know what this loop feels like…
Thats why I founded Clearly in Love. My work focuses on relationship anxiety, ROCD-style doubt, emotional numbness, checking, guilt, reassurance seeking, and the constant need to feel certain.
I created this space for people who deeply care about their partner, but feel trapped in doubt, overthinking, emotional checking, guilt, numbness, and the constant need to feel certain.
This work is personal for me because I know what it feels like to be caught in that loop..
I know what it feels like to love someone and still question everything. To wake up already scanning how you feel. To compare your relationship to other people’s. To wonder if you are leading your partner on. To feel guilty for having thoughts you never asked for. To search online, replay conversations, test your attraction, check your emotions, and still never feel fully sure.
That is the exhausting part of relationship anxiety and relationship OCD, often called ROCD. It can turn love into something that feels like a constant mental test. Instead of simply being with your partner, your mind starts treating the relationship like a problem that has to be solved perfectly before you are allowed to feel calm.
For years, I struggled in my own relationships before I had clear language for what was happening. I thought the constant questioning meant I needed to figure out the relationship once and for all. I believed that if I could just analyze enough, or find the “right” answer, I would finally feel certain about my partner.
But the more I chased certainty, the more disconnected I felt, and the more I checked my feelings the harder they became to access.
Over time, I started to understand that my doubt was not just random. It was connected to my attachment style, my fear of being hurt, and the parts of me that were trying to protect me. Those parts would search for flaws, reasons to leave, signs something was wrong, or proof that I should get out before I let someone get close enough to hurt me.
At the time, it felt like those thoughts were trying to save me. But slowly, I realized they were also keeping me from feeling safe, open, and connected in relationships that actually mattered to me.
And along the way, I hurt people I cared about. Not because I didn’t care, but because I was living from fear, urgency, and the need to feel absolutely sure.
Through my own therapy, coaching, education, and healing, I started to understand what was actually happening underneath the anxiety. I learned that the goal is not to eliminate every doubt or force yourself to feel perfectly in love all the time. The goal is to stop letting anxiety run the relationship.
My approach is direct, grounded, and practical. We do not endlessly analyze every thought or keep searching for perfect certainty. We look at what your mind, attachment style, nervous system, and protective parts are doing, how the anxiety loop keeps itself alive, and how to reconnect with clarity, steadiness, and choice.
So if you are in that place right now, don’t give up hope!
I’ve been there. I know how real it feels. I know how convincing the doubt can be. And I also know that it is possible to stop feeling ruled by every thought, feeling, and fear.
You do not have to keep living at the mercy of relationship anxiety. You can learn to understand what is happening inside you, reconnect with yourself, and move toward your relationship with more clarity, courage, and peace.
